Initial Storyboard - Behind the Mask

 BEHIND THE MASK (Thriller Movie)

Cayley McCloskey, Miguel Godinez, Zoe Fernandez

Our storyboard highlights depicted above shows the basic plot and crucial shots which we will be including in our film opening.

Description: The basic goal of our movie will be to present viewers with an everyday scenario, which many students watching may have even witnessed in real life, and contort it into an eerie and creepy alternate reality.

Camera Angles: Some camera angles we are planning to include specifically are wide shots of the classroom watching mask advertisements with very low key lighting, and an eerie flickering projector. Another crucial angle will be the close-up on the dead girl's face for the final shot of our opening.

Audio Notes: Our audio will be relatively minimal, and may include some bubbling effects while the teacher is shown in the chemistry lab, and also some eerie background music.

Transitions: The consistent transition we will be using throughout our movie will be direct cuts. These will be used when we quickly cut between the teacher in the lab, the classroom, and the girl coughing violently as she dies from poison in the mask she was given.

Graphics/Text: The title and credits will be in bold, blood-red letters, to emphasize the thrilling aspects of our movie.

Throughout this week, we discussed countless genres to choose for our opening as comedy would evidently be difficult. We glanced over adventure, documentary, and even drama, but ended up deciding on thriller/mystery, because we generated the best ideas within that genre. As we began discussing, our group was set on including something about chemistry, as we all share a difficult chemistry class, so we thought it would be interesting to include something that related to us personally. We also chose school as the main filming location, because it would be most convenient for collaboration, and we have access to a chemistry lab.

Miguel began to envision the main plot of our story, while Cayley brainstormed on the type of shots and title we would use. My main contribution was drawing out the storyboard, and thinking about ways in which to make the opening flow.

Overall, we are really excited to begin filming and producing this film.
